India Buys 31 MQ-9B SeaGuardian Drones from The US
The Indian Ministry of Defense has recently approved the acquisition of 31 MQ-9B SeaGuardian (Predator-B) drones from the United States for an estimated value of USD 3 billion.
These drones will be used by the Tri Dimensions of the Indian Military, with details of 15 allocated for the Indian Navy, eight for the Army, and eight for the Air Force.
The MQ-9B SeaGuardian will significantly enhance surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities and enhance India's alert and monitoring capabilities to address emerging security challenges.
Regarding the MQ-9B SeaGuardian, this is an advanced drone for reconnaissance and intelligence surveillance (ISR) missions produced by the well-known drone development company General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI).
The aircraft is equipped with advanced sensors, including high-resolution cameras, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and an electronic intelligence system (ELINT).
The MQ-9B SeaGuardian provides superior situational awareness.
It can carry out multiple missions simultaneously, including surveillance, target acquisition, and intelligence gathering.
The drone has impressive endurance, being able to be in the air for up to 40 hours.
Can operate at an altitude of 15,000 m and cover a distance of more than 6,000 nautical miles.
